Copenhagen Chemicals has been awarded funding by Region Hovedstaden and European Social Fund to study and evaluate the effect of a newly developed corrosion inhibitor for Hydrochlorid Acid applications in the oil & gas industry. The project will evaluate the effect of this new product against existing technologies such as Acetylinic Alcohol (f.ex. Propargyl Alcohol) based products and specific amine based products.

The main challenges in the industry today is that the existing products does not function effectively at high temperatures (>120 C).

The project is performed in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) who will perform tests and study the effect of the new product against industry standard technologies.

We expect that the project will be concluding towards the end of this year, and the new product be ready for the market shortly after.

More information will follow.
